Tiny House

Our Tiny House 2.0! Start To Finish Build of Our NEW Tiny Home!

In this very special episode we join forces with the incredible team at LJM Tiny Homes in Queensland for an epic project. We’re designing and building a brand new tiny house in Australia!

Over the past months we have been hard at work designing a new dream tiny home for ourselves. In this video, we show the whole process of this build from the design, all the way through to the finished result. We couldn’t be happier with this home and we really hope that you enjoy watching this tiny house come to life!

Working on this tiny house build together with the amazing LJM team was a dream come true. It was incredible to be able to spend a full month working so closely with such skilled individuals all working together to bring this very special vision into reality.

This project was made possible thanks to LJM and their wonderful partners and suppliers. To find out more about the materials used in our project, you can find our suppliers in the list below.

Gowan Lea Timbers, Marcoola
These legends have supplied us with framing timber as well as the stunning blackbutt timber used in our rafters. For all your timber needs, check them out!

Tweed Coast Glass
Strangely, double glazed joinery isn’t common in Queensland, yet it was essential in our tiny house design, especially as we didn’t know where it would be parked up in the end. Fortunately, we were able to get high quality double glazed joinery from not too far to the south of us!

Apex Steel
Apex Steel supplied our exterior Colorbond. We chose the Surfmit colour in the TRIMDEK profile for our tiny home and couldn’t be happier with the result.

VJ Plus
The interior of this tiny house wouldn’t be what it is without the incredible VJ panels. These give the home such a classic look and we couldn’t be happier with the result!

Carpet Kingdom Noosa
Our vinyl flooring is one of our favourite features in our tiny house. Especially in that herringbone pattern it absolutely makes the home.

Dulux Maroochydore

All of our paints for this project were supplied by Dulux. When I asked Rasa what was important to her in the design of this home, she gave me one stipulation. The colours had to be white, green and gold. Dulux helped to bring this vision to life!

Laguna Plumbing
A huge thank-you to the legend that is Timmy MacGyver and his team for bringing their expert plumbing skills to the build.

ClarkeAir Air Conditioning & Refrigeration
Thank-you James for stepping in to help at short notice!

Reece Noosa
And of course without the plumbing supplied by Reece, Tim and his team wouldn’t have had anything to install! If you’re in need for plumbing fittings, this is the place to go.

The Basin Lab
The spectacular illuminated resin basin and the matching halo mirror are stand-out features in this tiny house design. It was love at first sight for me with these products and I am so happy to be able to showcase them in our new home. Be sure to check them out for your own project!

EcoFlo Wastewater Management
The Nature Loo Alectura Composting Toilet is a game changing design for the tiny home market and we are so excited to feature this excellent composting toilet in our brand new tiny home.

Micks Gas Fitting
Thanks to Micks gas fitting for making sure all the gas fittings in our tiny home are safe and sound. Definitely an important thing to get right!

Spray Attack Noosa

Thanks to Spray Attack in Noosa for making sure that all our cabinetry fronts in the tiny house look like a million bucks!

Tiny House Transport Australia

A huge thanks to Martin Aslan for his superior towing and delivery skills! If you have a tiny house that needs to be moved anywhere in Australia, you can’t go past this guy to make sure your home arrives safe and sound. You’ll see more of his towing skills in a future video on our channel!

Renderly

Renderly created some beautiful 3D visualisations that helped bring our tiny home to life even before a single thing was built. 3D renders are a fantastic design tool that enables you to truly get an idea of what your home will look like, giving you the opportunity to easily make adjustments before the build thas started.

Invigr8 Health Club
Thanks heaps to Renee for the great vibes and constant supply of coffee! No tiny house gets build without coffee!

Building a tiny house is a huge undertaking and there are so many wonderful people and companies who have been a part of this project. A huge thank-you to all of you for helping to make this project what it is.

We hope you enjoy watching the full video of our new tiny home, the Rasa Mahal!
